Our First Broken Bone (1st of many I'm afraid!)

Well, it was bound to happen sooner than later with all of these boys, I guess we were lucky to make it 7 1/2 years with no broken bones. Tonight we were at my Mom's for pumpkin carving and Jack, Luke and Cole were playing in Bubba's room. Jack was jumping from the bed to the chin up bar that is attached to the ceiling and lost his grip and fell on his right arm. Amy happened to walk in right after the accident and quickly sent Luke up to Bryan and I to say it did not look good. There was absolutely no question that the poor thing had just broken his arm, I have never heard a child howl like he did.

Everyone sprung into action and Grammy, Bryan and Jack and I headed to Johnson Memorial while Amy and Emily (poor thing look what she's marrying into!) took the rest of the kids to Amy's to finish carving. Papa was so kind to pick the kids up at Amy's and bring them home for us and put them to bed. Thanks everyone for all of your help. We really appreciate it!

The damage....
...I apologize if you can't stomach this kind of stuff, it didn't look good at all.
He was such a good boy! He was amazing, once we got in the doctor gave him a percocet and he was good to go! All that really happened tonight was that they confirmed the break with an X-Ray (which we all knew, including the doctor before the x-ray) and they wrapped him up and told him to keep it in the sling until we see the ortho on Monday to have it set, I'm thinking that won't be pretty. However the PA we saw did say that it is not near his growth plates and that he should heal fine and it's one of the better breaks you can have, as if any are good. He was such a trooper and is still hanging in great at home, he loved the wheel chair ride by the way! I will keep you all posted as we move into the cast, he wants Uncle Aaron to be the first to sign it so he can draw him a cool picture!

Tubby Time

Tonight I was home with just the little boys while Bryan was at Jack's soccer practice with the big boys. This made for a nice quiet supper and tubby time (well as quiet as it can be with Cole around). Here are some pics of them in the tub together, they are having fun taking baths together now that Reed is able to sit up in the tub.

Reed looks so funny in every picture because he just shivers the whole time.

Cole and his dinosaur all wrapped up after their bath. All clean!!

When I came down from putting Reed to bed I found Cole hiding under the air hockey table sneaking Hershey Kisses.

Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday we went to our friend's house with Nina and the boys for some pumpkin carving. Nina and I quickly found out that our boys are not into getting messy which left Nina and I with 4 pumpkins to clean out and carve.

Wiley cleaning out his pumpkin, actually his hand was only in that pumpkin because I asked him to pose for the picture.
Braeden "helping" Nina clean out his pumpkin.
One of the few handfuls of pumpkin that Jack scooped out.
Luke thought using a glove would make it easier to clean his pumpkin, too bad the glove was about 3 sizes too big!
Braeden showing off the design he picked out.
Here they are very proud of their finished products.

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday we visited the pumpkin patch with a bunch of friends. The boys had a lot of fun taking a hayride and picking out pumpkins, they also enjoyed some apple cider and cider donuts.

Jack and Luke on the hayride, they look like they are getting too "cool" for stuff like this :(
Our attempt at a group photo, I didn't even post the one with Reed because more than half of them were not looking! I wonder if they were all girls if they would sit still better?!
Cole showing off his pumpkin.
Henry getting ready to have his donut.
The group shot. This is always difficult but I will say they did a pretty good job, Henry was having no part of this!

Elmo!!

Tonight Amy and I took Cole and Henry to see Elmo Live! They did such a great job sitting still and made it through the whole thing, sitting still is not easy for these two. I think they enjoyed their night out together.

Here they are just after arriving, we had pretty good seats so I think that definitely helped.
Cole wanted popcorn and this is apparently the only size they come in.
Of course we had to get obnoxious spinning toys that lit up!
Cole was very excited when he first saw Elmo come out on stage.
Elmo doing the hula.
Henry clapping along.
Henry eyeing Cole's cotton candy.
Elmo and his fish Dorothy. Cole asked numerous times before we went if he would be able to touch Elmo's fish, he didn't get to touch it but was happy enough just seeing Dorothy on stage.
The End!
