Cast/Dancing

*To hear video you need to pause the music player on the right*

About 3 weeks ago Jack had a shorter cast put on, this made things a lot easier for him, and us, he was able to write somewhat and do a little bit more. He was very excited to collect new signature and also to show off the flames that Uncle Aaron drew for him.

Here are the boys the other night after a haircut and after getting Jack's cast off (not the best picture of any of them, but you get the idea). He is doing great with his arm and is enjoying getting back to all of his activities he has missed for the past 6 weeks.

This is just a cute video of Henry and Cole dancing along with a dancing Santa that we have, Cole cracks me up with the way he shakes his hips. I'm not sure Henry knows what to think of the Santa, or Cole for that matter!

Tree Decorating

I am sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to a post about an unusually large Christmas tree, like last year. This year we simply ran out of weekends to go pick out a tree and after some hard convincing we got the boys to agree to use our small, fake tree this year. On Sunday night Jack, Luke, Cole and I decorated our little tree. I think by the time they were done nobody cared that our tree wasn't real. I'm sure we'll be on the lookout for that perfect tree next year though!

Cole did a great job with the ornaments, not one was broken! Next year we will work on spacing them out some!

Jack's cast gave him a little trouble when it came to putting those little hooks on. He is happy to have now gotten the cast off, pictures to come.
By the time we were done it was kind of late and this was the best Cole would give me, I'm lucky I even got him in the picture, he wanted no part of it!
Our little tree!

Santa's Visit

Santa stopped by on Saturday night for a quick visit, the boys, along with Wiley, Braeden and Henry, were very surprised and excited. I will try and post a video later, I was having trouble getting it to upload tonight.

I just thought this was a cute picture of Bekah and Reed, you can see a little smile under the paci.

The boys patiently waiting for their gifts.
Reed really surprised me, he wasn't afraid at all!
All of the boys enjoyed Santa's singing and guitar playing.

Another Tooth Gone!

Jack lost his 3rd tooth a couple of weeks ago, I just love how cute his smile looks with his missing tooth! The first pictures are from a few days before the tooth actually fell out, he would not let Bryan pull it, he really wanted to be the one to get it out.

He even tried using pliers!!
Finally he had to let Bryan just yank it out, we were out to eat one night and Bryan asked me if Jack's tooth was turning black. I told him yes, and told Jack if he didn't let Bryan pull it out the dentist would do it on Monday. He agreed it would be better to just let dad do it and get it over with. I can't wait for the one beside it to go, it's getting there!!

Bubba and Hockey

The boys were surprised by Bubba on Friday night. They were very excited to have him home and put him straight to work, between the Friday night and Sunday he had made fires, walked the woods, made slingshots, surprised Emily and Grammy and helped out with hockey practice! He will need a month to recover after being home for a month!!

Bubba spent the night at our house on Friday since no one else knew he was coming home. He came home early to surprise Emily at her bridal shower (check Amy's blog for that video). The boys had a great time having him to themselves on Friday.
Kevin seems to think this is a good thing to teach the kids...
...his own child is terrified of it and he found it very funny to keep terrorizing him with the can of whip cream.
Henry thought he would help Bubba get the fire going.
Bubba showed us a trick with Cotton balls and Vaseline to start a fire, Henry apparently thought this was taking too long and kept shoving the lighter in Bubba's face.
Sunday morning Bubba came to Luke's hockey practice to help out, here are Luke, Bryan and Bubba warming up.
Reed had fun in the stands with Grammy.
Luke has improved a lot since the beginning of the season. Here he is doing one of the drills. Waiting his turn.
The coaches making their "game plan". Ironically one of Luke's coaches is a coach that Bubba used to have when he was little, he is back coaching his grandson. It was fun for him and Bubba to be on the ice together again!
Sorry some of the pictures are blurry but they are taken through the glass. Here's Bubba keeping an eye on Luke!
Here is a video of Luke during one of the drills.

Arm Update...

Jack had his new cast put on yesterday and is feeling much better today. We went in yesterday morning to the CT Surgery Center to have his arm set and cast. The doctor felt it was best to have him put to sleep for this as he may have had to go in and put a plate in to hold his bone in place, luckily we didn't have to go that route. While Jack was asleep the doctor ended up breaking his bone the rest of the way through and was able to line it up perfectly. He was casted and good to go in about 45 min. Last night he was in a little bit of pain but is doing much better today.

Here is the new red cast he will have for about 3 weeks, then he will go down to a shorter one for another 2-3 weeks. He had fun with the masks, gloves, and hats the nurses at the surgery center gave him.

3 tired boys, that was a long day!
The happy camper this morning with a few signatures on his cast. He will be more than ready (as will I ) to go back to school on Monday!!

Halloween

The boys had a great Halloween this year (minus the broken arm).

Jack was a ninja again this year but I guess the arm added to his costume. Many people asked him if it was just part of his costume so the poor kid had to explain all night that, no it was a real broken arm!
Luke also reused his Optimus Prime costume from last year (I love recycling!!)
Cole was a pirate (again recycled from Luke 2 years ago)
Last but not least, Reed wore Henry's monkey costume from last year, I must say he was mighty cute!

Trick-or-Treating at our old neighbor Liz's house, she goes all out on Halloween so the boys love visiting her house.
Of course a group shot before we go! It never gets any easier with the more kids we keep adding!
Off they go!!
At Joey and Caren's posing with Owen, the cutest little pea pod!
Handing out candy at Amy and Kevin's.
