Bubba and Hockey

The boys were surprised by Bubba on Friday night. They were very excited to have him home and put him straight to work, between the Friday night and Sunday he had made fires, walked the woods, made slingshots, surprised Emily and Grammy and helped out with hockey practice! He will need a month to recover after being home for a month!!

Bubba spent the night at our house on Friday since no one else knew he was coming home. He came home early to surprise Emily at her bridal shower (check Amy's blog for that video). The boys had a great time having him to themselves on Friday.
Kevin seems to think this is a good thing to teach the kids...
...his own child is terrified of it and he found it very funny to keep terrorizing him with the can of whip cream.
Henry thought he would help Bubba get the fire going.
Bubba showed us a trick with Cotton balls and Vaseline to start a fire, Henry apparently thought this was taking too long and kept shoving the lighter in Bubba's face.
Sunday morning Bubba came to Luke's hockey practice to help out, here are Luke, Bryan and Bubba warming up.
Reed had fun in the stands with Grammy.
Luke has improved a lot since the beginning of the season. Here he is doing one of the drills. Waiting his turn.
The coaches making their "game plan". Ironically one of Luke's coaches is a coach that Bubba used to have when he was little, he is back coaching his grandson. It was fun for him and Bubba to be on the ice together again!
Sorry some of the pictures are blurry but they are taken through the glass. Here's Bubba keeping an eye on Luke!
Here is a video of Luke during one of the drills.

Arm Update...

Jack had his new cast put on yesterday and is feeling much better today. We went in yesterday morning to the CT Surgery Center to have his arm set and cast. The doctor felt it was best to have him put to sleep for this as he may have had to go in and put a plate in to hold his bone in place, luckily we didn't have to go that route. While Jack was asleep the doctor ended up breaking his bone the rest of the way through and was able to line it up perfectly. He was casted and good to go in about 45 min. Last night he was in a little bit of pain but is doing much better today.

Here is the new red cast he will have for about 3 weeks, then he will go down to a shorter one for another 2-3 weeks. He had fun with the masks, gloves, and hats the nurses at the surgery center gave him.

3 tired boys, that was a long day!
The happy camper this morning with a few signatures on his cast. He will be more than ready (as will I ) to go back to school on Monday!!

Halloween

The boys had a great Halloween this year (minus the broken arm).

Jack was a ninja again this year but I guess the arm added to his costume. Many people asked him if it was just part of his costume so the poor kid had to explain all night that, no it was a real broken arm!
Luke also reused his Optimus Prime costume from last year (I love recycling!!)
Cole was a pirate (again recycled from Luke 2 years ago)
Last but not least, Reed wore Henry's monkey costume from last year, I must say he was mighty cute!

Trick-or-Treating at our old neighbor Liz's house, she goes all out on Halloween so the boys love visiting her house.
Of course a group shot before we go! It never gets any easier with the more kids we keep adding!
Off they go!!
At Joey and Caren's posing with Owen, the cutest little pea pod!
Handing out candy at Amy and Kevin's.

Playgroup/Pumpkin Carving

On Thursday Cole and Henry have playgroup and this week they had a Halloween party. The boys loved getting dressed up to go to playgroup!

My two little pirates, Reed was a pirate for playgroup and a monkey on Halloween.

Luke and Henry enjoying all of the great goodies at the party.
This is Reed in his skeleton outfit.
Pumpkin carving at Amy's house. Unfortunately Jack missed out on this but Amy, Papa and Emily were very brave to take this on. I guess my pictures are in the wrong order but you get the idea!
Getting ready! This is pretty much the only picture of Luke near the pumpkins, he is not a fan of carving!
It looks like Cole gave it a shot though.
Hard at work.
